ESP Inclement Weather Policy

Main Stage Shows

In the event of inclement weather conditions, Elden Street Players will post show cancellation notices on our Inclement Weather line (703-481-5930 box 8) and on our website (if possible). We will only cancel performances if the safety of our cast and crew is jeopardized by the current or anticipated weather conditions. Cancellations due to weather are decided and posted at least 2 hours before curtain time. Refunds will be provided for all tickets purchased to a CANCELLED performance. If exchange of tickets to another performance is possible, the box office will attempt to contact patrons before refunding.  Please call 703-481-5930 after that time if you are concerned about a potential cancellation.

We also recognize that audience members may be coming from greater distances and/or from more affected areas than our cast and crew members. Audience members may be uncomfortable traveling to the theater due to existing or anticipated weather conditions. Our normal deadlines for making ticket exchanges for another performance will be waived at the box office manager's discretion and if by noon on the date of the performance: The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather warning for Fairfax County and the Washington, DC area that will impact travel across the region.

Under these circumstances, audience members desiring a ticket exchange for another performance should leave their request on the voicemail system at 703-481-5930 x2.

We hope that this inclement weather policy will relieve our audience from the pressure of having to make such decisions eight hours before the performance. This should allow you to make such decisions at a time much closer to performance time. The Elden Street Players appreciate the continued support of our audience members and we hope that this policy will alleviate some of the stress associated with inclement weather road conditions.

Theatre for Young Audiences and Holiday Family Shows

The inclement weather policy stated for main stage shows (above) applies to children's shows as well.  The primary difference is that due to the matinee times, website updates will probably not occur.  So, please check the box office line for young audiences (703-481-5930 box 3) and/or the inclement weather line (703-481-5930 box 8) for information on cancellations.  Notices of cancellation will be posted on the phone message at least two hours before curtain time.  Refunds will be provided for all tickets purchased to a CANCELLED performance.
